The Difference Between Girls & Guys in the Friend Zone

Hey World

How often do we say "guys will be guys", or "stop acting like a chick"? Do we even think about what we are saying? Have you ever thought about some of the behaviors of girls and guys, and what makes them different? I have, but what I've come to see is that we are the same. We just do things in different ways, yet still accomplish the same end.

For instance, Girls cry about guys being dogs and playing with girls hearts and emotions, while using them to get physical and emotion pleasure. (I put a period there because I'm stating a known fact.) The truth is, girls do the same thing. The difference being, girls use guys to give them that emotional security, to be that friend they can always count on. Either way, either gender, the relationship will go nowhere. It stops abruptly in the friend zone with no chance of upgrade, leaving someone stuck.

Guys in the friend zone

Guys in the friend zone are pathetic and sad to be around. They stay waiting for this one girl to love them, hoping and praying for the day she "comes to her senses." The whole time, they watch while she continues to date dirt bag after dirt bag. Here's the thing, they play their cards right they always say the sweetest things, and are always catching the girl when she falls. they are, if you will, the girls janitor; every time she messes up her life she is there to catch her and help clean her up.

The whole time knowing he is going no where, but hoping he gets somewhere. She keeps breaking his heart every time she finds the new boyfriend, and every time she reminds him that he's a great guy friend. This guy will never get out of the friend zone unless he makes a drastic change and either some how, some way appeal to her or he becomes that dirt bag and looses the friendship all together.

Girls in the friend zone

Girls play the friend zone a little different. girls in the friend zone are the best friends to have as well. This is because, guys need this friend a lot more than girls need their friend zone buddy. Guys need tis girl to tell them how to dress, to approve dates, hairstyles, music choices, and foods. Guys use these girls as dinner dates, secretaries, party planners, and on occasion physical scapegoats. Thing is this girl lets herself be that for this guy and complains only to her friends. She uses all the attention to her advantage, and takes "all she can get" from the "relationship", knowing that one day he is more likely to slip up and she will get more.

Either way, its a sad state to be in, knowingly or unknowingly, the friend zone does nothing but demoralize the other person. So how do we fix this?

#1 Confess: telling the other person how you feel is key to getting out of the friend zone

#2 Accept: if the person does not feel the same way about you, accept that

#3 Act: Realize that you have two choices and only you can make them. You can either move on and pull yourself completely away from the friendship, or you can continue as friends and bury your feelings

For those who are putting people in the friend zone, remember that its not about you. You can find that feeling of self worth and love anywhere but toying with another's feelings and emotions is not cool. It does nothing but damage and hurt the other person. It can also damage any future relationship you may have. Do your best to eradicate the friend zone parking in your life.

Remember world,
No parking in the friend zone.

Answer the Phone

"I don't pick up the phone unless i recognize the number."

WHAT??!

It drives me NUTS when people tell me this. I know, i know. Now that telemarketers can call cell phones you don't want to waste your time. Whoop-ti-freakin-doo-hoo-you. I LOVE UNKNOWN NUMBERS! In fact, let me take you through the progression of me answering a call from a number i don't recognize.

***

Munch. Suck. Munch.

Man, these nuts just taste delicious all up in my mouth. Planters. Possibly the most delectable harvested peanuts a man can ever digest. Danilo is pleased with the product he eats. It is somewhat a chore to practice the grinding of nut on teeth, but he pays no heed to it. He is too intent on the intrusiveness of that light, aching irritation at the base of his mandibles. How dare the pain try to interrupt his jaw in its attempt to furiously masticate. Just focus on of all that protein you're getting, Dan.

A truly fitting type of Planter's nuts
worthy of lodging itself in once's mouth.

"WHOA!!" Danilo somersaults out of his chair and cartwheels into a one armed handstand. His legs spread open to assist in the maintenance of his balance. "I never receive phone calls. Who could this be?!"

That last sentence came out in a British accent. He almost asks himself why, but quickly decides he doesn't care. Jerking his body aggressively, Danilo rolls out of the handstand and into downward dog. Simultaneously, the phone slips out of his pocket and onto the tip of his nose. He lets it down gently until it is safely on the floor. Placed at eye level, he nearly dies of a heart attack when he sees who is calling.

IS IT A SECRET ADMIRER??!

The excitement is thumping in his ears. So excited, he grabs the phone and lifts it high into the sky. When he notices that it is moving up and down, he looks down and comes to the realization that his legs are no longer static -- they have taken upon them a life of their own and are now leaping in adulation.

Ohh snaps, i have to answer it!

Immediate composure. Collecting himself, Danilo lowers his body onto its butt and criss-cross-applesauces  his legs. He is sitting in Indian stance.

"Namaste."

Pressing the answer button with unshakable commitment, Danilo raises the phone to his ear.

"Hello?" He whispers. A tear drop tickles his cheek. Nature illuminates in vocal harmony as a complete choir of Mocking Jays sing their spring time mating songs. The 55th president of the United States of America is born in French Lick, Indiana. The Chargers still suck. "Are you my--"

"Hello, this a reminder that you have a dental appointment tomorrow at 9 AM. Have a nice day."

"But wait!..."

Click.

"...I'll be there."

***

And something like that happens EVERY time i receive a phone call from an unknown number. Needless to say, i'm always giddy because i get to talk to somebody i may not know. Even if it is a telemarketer. Or maybe it's just somebody who really needed to get in contact with me but didn't have their phone. That's always freaking annoying.

World, answer the phone.

Diary of an Unemployed Black Man

Dear World,

In typical Vic fashion I did something crazy. The thing is, the action wasn't the crazy part. Let me explain. I finally did it. I quit my job! You know, the thing that has been killing me repeatedly every Thursday through Monday night since September 2010. I did it. The crazy part is, I should have done it a long time ago. Here is why.
When you work everyday for a company and you do your best, the company should at least respect you enough to give you the tools to do your job well. Mind you, this is the same job where I repeatedly encountered vicious, wild, animals intent on taking my life. However, despite my repeated attempts at workplace equality, my fellow coworkers and I were "sent through the kitchen entrance and told to eat off the floor." Well you know what? I HAD A DREAM, in fact, more of a realization, that I could do better. I should do better. There is no reason to work the hours I did for as long as I did, and get treated the way I did. Now, I don't think I'm anything special, but I do believe that a servant is worthy of his hire and all that good stuff. So, I started looking for another job, gave my two weeks notice and quit.
The question is now whether or not I found a job. No, I'm still unemployed, BUT, I've had interviews every week since I've been out of work, and they've gone well. I actually have a serving job now that I start on Thursday, and an interview for Macy's on Wednesday. I'm doing my thing. Some people say, Vic wouldn't it have been smart to get another job first before you quit? To you I say SHUTUP! You don't think I thought of that?? Been working on it, but I'm not worried. The right will come as long as you keep looking.
I've been looking on Craigslist for jobs and I tell you some of these postings are straight candy toting, van with the creepy windows driving, Chester the molester looking CREEPERS! They want a "personal assistant", and when they email you back, you get the same exact script from 3 different names, with no variation in the email at all...mmmm..mmmmmm no suh, not me! I refuse to be on the next milk carton with a have you seen this man above my face, especially at my age. Adult napping? Now that's, just embarrassing. So I keep looking for smart jobs and safe interviews. If they call you back its usually ok to go to. Just be careful because these people can be crafty.
So in the grand scheme of things, I've managed to rid myself of the weight that I've carried for years. The same weight that altered my mentality, change my social status, and limited my productivity. I'll admit I hate being broke and out of work, but I also hate being taken advantage of. So in retrospect, my decision to quit and look for better was a good one, and it will pay off. I'm just hoping it does soon.

For richer or Poorer,
  Love ya world

*DISCLAIMER quitting your job is not the answer to everyone's problems. Search yourself and your situation before considering. Remember the economy is rough and not everyone can be guaranteed to find employment elsewhere.

He's Back!!!

Hey World, before you start ranting I know its been a while. Some of you have been inseminated, had morning sickness, and now have a bouncing baby 3 year old since the last time I posted, I KNOW!!! Thing is, I've been very busy lately. There is a lot I have to catch you guys up on. So lets just dive right into it.
First, I know it may seem like I'm contradicting myself from my previous blog, Single and Loving Every Minute of It, but I assure you I am not! That being said, Ive found her. You know who I'm talking about, that girl. The one that makes me happy, who makes me a better person yadayada the whole cliche. No, it isn't

Jennifer Lawrence or Payson Keeler. Even though that would be AWESOME! She is the real thing and you have seen her on my blog before and you will see her again soon. So I've been spending time with her and the peeps just enjoying life.

Another reason for my absence, as you  find it hard to read my text while staring at the lovely ladies to your left, is school. If you didn't know I was in clinical rotations for two months for respiratory therapy. It was the craziest /awesomest experience Ive had in school. I saw a baby being born, like clawing its way from the birth canal, Ive felt life fade in my hands, and Ive felt the faded life revived
under my hands as well. Ive had the privilege of working with all kinds of professional people in the hospital setting, doctors, nurses, therapist, and much more. As you can see it took a lot of my time. Its cool I learned so much and even got to cross some things off my list.

In fact here is an update of my 13 before 13 list

#1. Learn a fret-less stringed instrument (viola, done)

#6. Go to 3 professionals sports games (3 out of 5 of the professional sports) (done)

#10. Profess love to a random stranger through song (done)

#13. Save a life (done and done)

As you can see I've been pretty busy, but that is all about to change. I'll tell you about that another time.
...but...yeah, If there is anything I can leave you with its this. Live life, find love, be happy, don't let your insecurities and past mistakes dictate the decisions you make in the present. Explore yourself. Push yourself to new heights and don't settle for anything less then your best. Now that I've gotten all philosophical on you ill leave you with a picture of me n the infamous Tin Tin.

Much Love World, See ya soon,
           Vic

The Most Excellent Ninja

Hello World!!
One thing about me that you may not know is that I’M NOT PERFECT, but I am EXCELLENT. I believe that no one is perfect and no one can be but to excellent is an accomplishment, and striving to be even more excellent is the ultimate goal. With this post, I’m going to share with you guys a bit of excellence that a very special group of close friends/ fellow PCC Alumni have put together.  Their project is called “I’m a Ninja.” It’s not about being a literal ninja. It’s about pursuing excellence in every facet of life. You know what, I’m going to stop talking and let them tell you all about it.

T-SHIRTS • ACCESSORIES • TOYS • BOOKS • GAMES • EVERYTHING NINJA
DEFINITION
One Genkai essentially means one limitation. Within each of us, there is One Limit we must overcome to reach our fullest potential. One thing stopping us from achieving success in our chosen field. That limit, “is you.” It is you and your resolve. To become a better athlete, you must resolve to train harder. To receive a higher position at work, you must resolve to work harder and educate yourself. Nothing else is standing in your way to success – simply you and your desire to accomplish the things you must. We all have “One Genkai.” One Genkai hopes to become a company that is known for their fun, unique products. We also strive to raise funds for charitable organizations.
I’M A NINJA is the first product line of One Genkai. Since our company has some Japanese inspiration to it, we decided it best to begin with a Japanese inspired character. “I’M A NINJA” is our phrase to define a level of expertise. Ninja is no longer defined as “one with a black hooded mask & a master of martial arts.” Hiding in the shadows is a thing of the past. We encourage everyone to be proud of their skill-sets and to share it with the world! Anyone who has purposed to take control of their situation is a Ninja and should let others know!
You can learn more online: www.onegenkai.com

OOOOOOKKKK Blog Readers If this wasn’t enough to say wow these guys are excellent! Then you need to check out this next element to their company….A FRIGGIN CHILDRENS BOOK,…WHATT??!??!

STORY IDEA
Our goal in writing this book is not only to entertain, but to encourage children to read books with more difficult words. We hope that children will seek the definition, of the challenging words, from their parents. We are striving to revive one of America’s favorite pastimes – parents reading along-side their children.
I’M A NINJA! ARE YOU?
FULLY ILLUSTRATED
WRITTEN FOR CHILDREN & ADULTS
TO BE READ ALOUD

Award winning illustrator Howard McWilliam has agreed to illustrate this novel – once we find ourselves a publisher of course. Howard’s artwork is truly under-appreciated. I am almost certain that if you combine our story with his pencil you will not only produce a best seller, but a true classic in Children’s Literature!

SWAG!!!

Hello World,
SWAG! God I hate that word. Do you know why I hate it? I hate it because everybody uses it. I hate it because I forget what I used to say before I started using it. He's got swag, she's got swag, we've got swag, What is SWAG? I forget what it is. I forget what word it deleted from the dictionary in order for us to start using it. Thus my issue with the word swag and other words like it. They have become pop culture catch phrases that eliminate the need for vocabulary. Now a days people who speak well are considered dull or nerdy, because they are educated. Well, READ A BOOK and you just might be just as knowledgeable.

The English language is the dirtiest classless language in the modern world. Why is that? Not, because its spoken by many, but because its lost its originality. We use words like toilet paper one minute its a good word, gets the job done, then we find another fluffier easier word and forget there even was an origin in the first place. OK, probably not the best example but seriously, how many times do you use words that are termed "slang" because you cant find a better word to say? I challenge you to find a better word the next time you want to saw swag, or bling, or tight. I submit to you There is always a better word!!!

Till next time my swagged out partners in crime

You Can't Date My Daughter Because Your Black

Hey World
Currently I'm mad. Why am I mad? I'm mad because of people who call themselves Christians continue to be the very opposite of the word when it comes to racial matters involved with marriage. I want to start out by saying that NOWHERE in my Bible does it say that inter racial marriage is wrong. What Vic? What about the whole be ye not unequally yoked thing? Negative ghost rider read the rest of the verse...It goes on to say together with unbelievers...meaning unsaved people..see most people want to quote that verse and forget the last part.  I say OK forget the last part but remember this. We live in AMERICA, land of the free and home of the brave. The land in which our founding fathers penned the very words " We believe that all men were created equal." This concept has been fought for and defended throughout the years as Americans so now today we stand and say without scruples that ALL men were created EQUAL. So from a Biblical and political stand point that argument is Faulty! So bigot Christian you haven't convinced me...Next argument!! Well the Gospel was only given to the Jews and not the Gentiles.... Well that's because the Jews were God's chosen people...next argument. Well the Samaritans were half breeds and even Jesus didn't  share the gospel with them. OK once again... the gospel was given for the Jews only..Are you a Jew? No!!!

OK, so now that your Biblically proven wrong, the argument becomes a social issue. I know when this particular thing happened to me, one of the excuses was, "the other (extended) members of our family wont like it." I also heard the excuse that "the children will face too much adversity from society and it would be too hard for them".For real???? The world Loves mixed kids. Everybody wants to be a mixed kid. Diversity amplifies not identifies!..Just excuses to say no, he's black and I'm semi- racist. You see you can be friends but you can't date? Are we not all brothers and sisters in Christ? Why is there such bigotry in today's churches? You want to preach fire and brimstone and running from sin but you hold sin in your heart in the form of racism. Why is it OK for me as a black man to know the same God you do, Go to the same church You do, Sit in the same pew, but not date your daughter because of my color? ARE YOU KIDDING ME??

Like I said before this happened to me a couple of years ago, and I wasn't prepared to handle it. It honestly tore me apart. those who were around then can testify that I wasn't the same person after that. Now it's happening to others who are close to me and it upsets me. I am currently dating a Filipino girl she is amazing I couldn't ask for better, but to those who are getting denied their chance at happiness because of race here is my advice.

#1. Educate yourself...know what you believe and why you believe it. Don't allow yourself to be convinced that you are in the wrong because of your creed or color.

#2. Realize that it isn't you, its them...If people actually took the time to get to know you as a person they may like you, they may not, but at least they took the chance to get passed your appearance, and got to know the real you.

#3. Stand up for yourself....trust me if you don't you will regret it. Even if you lose the relationship just knowing that you spoke your mind and you showed them you disagreed will take you a long way. You will feel better about yourself knowing you did everything you could.

#4. If the other party isn't willing to fight for you, say your piece and leave. Do not be the only one fighting for your right to love. It has to be a group effort. If the other party isn't interested in fighting with you don't go to war. State your belief and leave the battlefield if not you will only injure yourself more.

It saddens me that the people who are supposed to be Christ-like are the people who often inflict the most hurt on their "brethren" This isn't right guys. Not for any race

Its a sad day for Christendom World
